This course focuses on bank management affairs. It explores the services that banks and their principal competitors (including savings and loans, credit unions, security and investment firms) offer in an increasingly competitive financial-services marketplace. Topics that will be covered in this the course consists of the following: bank management definition, the banking system history and regulation, commercial credit identification, asset and liability management, risk management, loan policy, and money management services, the structure of banks, financial statements of the bank; and evaluation of bank performance. The teaching approach that will be used in this course focuses mainly on a case-based and in-class discussion. This will make the teaching strategy is more student-centered than instructor-centered.
