Course Description.
Political Marketing is considered as a marriage of political science and business marketing. This course aims to introduce students to how candidates, parties, elected officials and governments around the world utilize marketing concepts and tools to win elections and remain in office. It shows the applicability of marketing concepts to the area of politics and discusses the relationships among consumer and voter behavior concepts. The course examines a wide range of political marketing topics including the rise of the political consumer, market intelligence and segmentation, e-marketing, the role of new media in political marketing, political branding, local political marketing and ethical implications of political marketing.
The learning approach adopted in this course will be online lectures and discussions, presentations, and assignments.
